Chia Seeds #WellnessWednesday (Chocolate Pudding)

Here is just a FEW health benefits of Chia Seeds.  I have recently started eating “soaked” chia seeds.  I have always eaten dry chia seeds in my smoothies and oatmeal, but NOW I am exploring soaked seeds.  Below I want to share some exciting (yes, I get excited about these things) things about the wonderful Chia Seed!!!

1- Antioxidants: There are so many antioxidants in a chia seed.  Antioxidants are great for anti-aging and gorgeous skin.

2-Fiber:There is a large amount of fiber in chia seeds and we all know that fiber leads to proper digestion.  Also, the seeds become a gel like substance and help “cleanse” your system naturally.

3-Protein: All of the protein and nutrients in Chia Seeds help aid in weight loss, muscle gain & a higher or healthy metabolism. One 28-gram serving of these super seeds has 4.4 grams of protein. This is great for vegetarians and people who are wanting to gain muscle.

4-Omega-3 Fatty Acid: All of these Fatty Acids contribute to reducing inflammation.  This is great for those of you with joint pain and irritation. Omega-3’s are also great for healthy hair and skin.

5-Hydration: The chia seeds hold up to 10-15 times their weight in water.  This helps to keep you hydrated and feeling full!
