Well today our project was, first, getting heat in our home! We are getting a new furnace & air conditioner next week but until then, they came & temperately fixed our current. Its about 50 degrees over here in Iowa (& in the 30’s at night) so we need some heat!
While the HVAC guy was here we made some Pumpkin Play-dough. Lola has NEVER used play-dough before so I thought editable would be a good way to go for the first trial. I didn’t really want her to eat it because I didn’t want to start a bad habit but if she did (and she did) I wouldn’t be as worried!
The ingredients you need are:
- 1 Can of Pumpkin
- Pumpkin Spice
- Cornstarch
I did not use or have a specific recipe to go on BUT I will share what worked for me. It was very easy. I added half a can of pumpkin to a bowl (you could use the whole can if you had more than two kiddos playing with it) and mixed in about 1 Tablespoon of Pumpkin Spice. I would add in an amount that makes it smell “good” for your & your kiddos. Then, I started mixing in the cornstarch. I would say I used about 1/3 of my box. I slowly sprinkled it in and mixed. You will keep adding corn starch until it forms into a ball without sticking to your hands. IF you add to much cornstarch, you can add a little water or just a little more pumpkin.
Lola absolutely loved it and she loved smelling it too! I am storing our in a Tupperware container in the refrigerator. I would say that it will last about 3 days!
What a fun and festive activity.
