Friends & Family,
I wanted to share some exciting things with you all!!! Our family has been stuck in a “tough time” the past few months financially but we should be breaking through & seeing the light very soon! With that being said, I wanted to share our plans for this upcoming school year. Being teachers, we like to start exciting and new plans at the start of the school year, not just the beginning of a fiscal year.
For starters, I will still be staying home with the kiddos again this year but I will be watching a new little one. The little girl that I used to babysit has moved back to their families home town. This is very sad news to me considering her mama is my best friend!!! We will miss them dearly. This year I will be watching another little girl almost the same age as Quinnlynn. They are going to have so much fun together growing and changing along side one another. Lola will love it just to have another little being to chat with (or to!)
Brett’s exciting news is that he is taking on an “extra” position at school this year as a teacher mentor. This is something he was already under taking at his school (in my opinion) but this year he will have extra time to focus on sharing with other teachers and he will be paid for it too! Wahoo! I am so excited for him and where his educational career is headed. He is such a devoted and creative teacher that he deserves all of the recognition in the world. He truly is one of the best! (I mean, I might be a little bias!)
Lastly, I wanted to share with you my new venture but first I need to share a little about myself! I am currently an early childhood teacher (preschool) on a break from teaching. I have my masters in Early Childhood Education and I have many years experience in the classroom. With that being said, I am starting a “curriculum” for toddlers that I will call Toddler Tribe! In doing my “research” into toddler activities I have found that there is just not much out there in terms of toddler curriculum that parents can use in their own homes!
The plan is to release week long themes that are based around toddler development & learning. I will release the themes a week before they are going to be implemented (as a tribe.) Our family may implement the theme a week before everyone so we have pictures and feedback for everyone else! This will also give everyone time to get materials and supplies created for the following week! The themes will be simple & concrete such as colors, weather, apples, fall/autumn (my personal favorite), etc. This will be a free weekly theme that anyone and everyone can use (so please share our blog with friends!!!)
